Tempting Tuesday | Manolo Blahnik S/S ’14 Collection & Meeting Mr. Blahnik

Happy Tuesday everyone!

February has been a exciting month! Not only do the husband and I share our birthdays this month, there is love day in between, and this year I had the pleasure of meeting the amazing shoe icon, Manolo Blahnik, it was definitely the icing on the cake.

Look at my grin!

Look at my grin!

How could I have resisted once I found out Mr. Blahnik was visiting the windy city? I fell more in love with his shoe collection right after meeting him and finding out he’s quite witty and personable–he was like an old adorable grandpa! Here are a few snaps from the memorable event. Manolos in every color–heaven! Below are some of my favorites from his Spring/Summer 2014 Collection.

I attended the event with my chic friend, Fatima, and spend the evening getting to know a few local Chicago bloggers. All in all a great fashion event.

“Look at these shoes – are they just not decadent and beautiful!” demanded Manolo Blahnik at the unveiling of his spring/summer 2014 collection. Yes, Mr.Blahnik I completely agree! One in every color, please.

A&U Cook | Bread Pudding Pancakes

Happy Saturday everyone!

bread pudding pancakes

After trying yummy bread pudding pancakes at Meli Cafe for my birthday brunch, the husband and I were craving bread pudding pancakes a few day’s ago. While it would have been quite easy to stroll on over to Meli and order up a stack I decided to look up a recipe and try my hand at it.

I used this recipe, which had great reviews, however I halved the recipe to have enough just for two. A few other modifications, I used my own batter mix (I believe any will work), I added a ripe banana as a substitute for egg (you can’t taste the banana), and I added some chocolate chips to my last batch of cakes for experimentation which turned out extra delicious.

Wear it Wednesday | Madewell Spring Collection ’14

Hi All!

Earlier this month I attended an event hosted by Madewell and co-hosted by Liz of Sequins & Stripes. It was an intimate event, that I attended with my friend Fatima, to peruse the new Madewell Spring Collection ’14 and take a break from our busy school schedules. We enjoyed chocolate covered strawberries and other sweet goodies while taking fun pictures. Here are some snaps from the event, and below are a few pieces from the new collection that I’m loving.

If you look closely you will see two men, one is on top of the canyon and the other is hiking up. Kind of gives you a perspective on the size of the rocks.

Peace be upon you

Over the winter break the husband and I visited Colorado. We explored the charming state and all that it had to offered – we weren’t disappointed. Here are a few snapshots of our trip. I will be dividing it up into two post – this one will have snaps from our time in Denver, Georgetown, Loveland ski area, and our visit to the famous Rocky Mountain National Park!

Pictures don’t do just to the beauty of Colorado.

By the way, Happy New Year! I know I’m a little late but my year doesn’t start till February- mainly because it’s a special month for the husband and I and of course there’s Valentines day! Celebrations all month long for us!

Also, I will only be posting when time permits. I have lots of fun things to share, however grad school keeps me pretty busy so most times I just don’t get time to put together these posts. Lastly, the blog will be going through some “construction” Insha’Allah will keep you all posted.

Thank you for visiting!!!
